Should I hire a full-time family driver or use an on-demand captain?
A full-time driver means recruitment fees, a visa, an iqama, insurance, housing and management, paid every month whether the car moves or not. An on-demand captain is booked for the hours you need, employed by ADEB's partner companies, and vetted to the ADEB standard. The honest comparison depends on how many hours a week you are actually driven.
What a full-time driver really costs
Published Saudi recruitment guides put a private driver's salary at roughly SAR 1,500 to 3,500 a month, a one-time agency fee of about SAR 10,000 to 14,000, visa fees of about SAR 2,000 to 2,500, and an annual iqama. Add medical insurance, leave, end-of-service and housing, and the true burden sits well above the salary line. He is also one person: sick days, holidays and his own family are yours to plan around.
What an on-demand captain changes
You pay for the hours you use. The captain is employed by an ADEB partner company, screened through Amn and Elm, interviewed, trained to a written standard, and covered by security and insurance arrangements. If your usual captain is unavailable, another captain to the same standard arrives. There is nobody to house, sponsor or manage.
Who still needs a full-time driver
A household that is driven six or more hours every day, every day of the week, may still prefer a resident driver. Most executives and families are driven far less than that, in bursts: the commute, the meeting day, the evening. That pattern is what ADEB is built for.
